Is the Magene C706 compatible with Zwift and TrainerRoad?
The C706 connects to smart trainers via ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth FTMS, making it compatible with Zwift, TrainerRoad, Wahoo SYSTM, and other major training platforms. Structured workouts can also be controlled directly from the device using OnelapFit or TrainingPeaks-imported plans.
Does the Magene C706 work without a phone or internet connection?
Yes. The C706 supports fully offline navigation including rerouting, Back to Start, and waypoint navigation without a phone or data connection. Maps are stored on-device. Wi-Fi is only needed for Strava Segments sync and firmware updates.
What is Freeride ClimbPro on the Magene C706?
Freeride ClimbPro detects climbs near your current location automatically, even without a pre-loaded route. It is unique to the C706 in the Magene lineup. Standard ClimbPro identifies climbs along a planned route only.
How does the Magene C706 compare to the Garmin Edge 850?
The C706 has a larger 3.3 inch screen vs the Edge 850's 2.6 inch, adds a built-in speaker for voice alerts (Edge 850 has none), includes an e-bell and 12-colour Star Ring, and offers Freeride ClimbPro. The Edge 850 has a longer battery life. The C706 is validated by the XDS Astana WorldTour team for 2026. Both are IPX7 waterproof with dual-band GNSS.
Is the Magene C706 waterproof?
Yes. The C706 is rated IPX7, meaning it can withstand submersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes. It is fully rain-proof and suitable for all-weather riding.
What sensors does the Magene C706 support?
The C706 supports up to 11 sensors simultaneously via ANT+ and Bluetooth 5.0. Compatible types include heart rate monitors, speed sensors, cadence sensors, power meters, smart trainers, radar, lights, and Di2/eTap groupsets. Compatible with Magene, Garmin, Polar, and other ANT+/BLE sensors.
Does the Magene C706 support Garmin or Polar heart rate monitors?
Yes. The C706 is compatible with any ANT+ or Bluetooth heart rate monitor including Garmin HRM-Pro, Polar H10, and Magene's own H613 and H803.
