Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Fly6 Pro shut down unexpectedly during a ride?

Unexpected shutdowns are typically caused by three built-in features or a memory card error. Idle Mode automatically shuts down the camera after 15 minutes of detecting no movement — you can disable this in the CycliqPlus app. Incident Protection Mode triggers when your bike tilts past 60° for more than 5 seconds, records for a set period, then powers off. MicroSD card incompatibility can also cause shutdowns if the card cannot write data fast enough — use a V30-rated, high-endurance card formatted to exFAT.

What MicroSD card does the Fly6 Pro require?

Good news — a 64GB microSD card is already pre-installed in your Fly6 Pro, so you can start recording straight out of the box. If you ever need to replace or upgrade it, the Fly6 Pro requires a V30 (Video Speed Class 30) MicroSD card to handle its continuous video stream. Choose high-endurance lines designed for dashcam write cycles (e.g., SanDisk Endurance, Kingston Endurance). Format to exFAT using the on-device menu: scroll to "Hold to format" and hold the function button during the 5-second countdown. The Fly6 Pro supports cards up to 256GB.

Why is my Fly6 Pro battery life shorter than the advertised 7 hours?

Runtime varies based on light mode, resolution, and environmental conditions. Running the safety light on high steady mode consumes significantly more power than flash or camera-only modes. Cold temperatures and complex visual scenes also increase processor load. To check battery health, fully charge the unit, turn off the LED light, place it on a flat surface, and time how long it runs before shutting down. Expected runtime in camera-only/Organic Mode at 1440p@30fps with EIS active is up to 7 hours.

Why does my Fly6 Pro show a green charging light but drop battery immediately after unplugging?

This is typically a battery-management firmware calibration issue. First, format your MicroSD card to exFAT. Verify you are using a standard 5V/1–2A wall charger (up to 10W) — high-voltage fast chargers can trigger safety shut-offs. If the issue persists, locate the reset button under the port cover, press it, then fully drain and recharge the battery in one uninterrupted cycle to recalibrate the battery meter.

Is the Fly6 Pro waterproof?

The Fly6 Pro is IP67 certified, meaning it is rated for immersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes. It is designed to withstand heavy rain. However, ensure port covers are fully sealed before riding in wet conditions, as the rubber seals are the primary ingress point over time.

Does the Fly6 Pro work without the CycliqPlus app?

The Fly6 Pro can record without the app — simply power it on and it will begin loop recording automatically. However, the CycliqPlus app (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) is required to change settings such as resolution, light modes, and to transfer footage wirelessly. Basic operation is app-free; advanced configuration requires the app.

Looking for a simpler, app-free alternative?

If you prefer a rear cycling dashcam that operates entirely without a companion app, consider the Ripoon Q100 PRO. It features a Sony CMOS Starlight sensor, CNC metal alloy housing, IPX7 waterproofing, and 1080p@60fps recording — configured entirely via a text file on the MicroSD card. Available at Bikers.SG from SGD $187.
